Meet your personal trainer
Hi, I’m Amy Holmes a qualified personal fitness trainer and coach from Dublin
I believe that you’re never too old or out of shape to start training. My passion is helping people to improve their quality of life through movement and strength training. I listen carefully to what you want to achieve from training and from life, then design a programme to help you get there.
Your personal training questions answered.
-
At Fitness Aims every programme is highly customised to each client and their goals, so charges can vary. There are a number of combinations for packages but the standard package is €480 for eight, twice weekly 45 minute sessions.
Please book in a call to have a chat about how personal training could enhance your life and if it’s the right fit for you, without any obligation.
-
Absolutely! Most of my clients had never trained in a gym before working with me. We figure out your pace, ability and goals before starting and work to that.
-
I do indeed. The most important thing when looking for a trainer is finding someone you are comfortable with and like. If you feel awkward or self conscious with a trainer, or like you can’t ask them questions or have a chat, then no matter how good they are technically they probably aren’t the right fit for you.
That’s why I offer a free intro chat before you commit to anything.
-
The science says three to four times a week but this is not realistic for most people, especially starting off.
Be very honest with yourself, what can you see yourself being able to fit in to your life and maintain? Perhaps a doable week is going to the gym twice, doing a 30 minute walk and playing a round of golf. Anything is better than nothing and no matter how small the change or commitment may seem you are still beating everyone sitting on the sofa!
-
Chat to me about it before you commit to anything. If you have clearance to train from your doctor or physio then all I require is some details on the nature of the injury or pain. If you haven’t had them checked then we will discuss this in full. Sometimes pain occurs because the body needs to move more in a particular direction, sometimes a few sessions of physio are advisable before or alongside training.
I have worked with many people and many injuries over the years and I will always err on the side of caution. I have seen many recoveries over the years and people who have gone on to train fully and pain free. I have built up many relationships with physios over the years and the biggest successes have been where the client, the physio and myself have worked as a team.
-
I do, everyone is welcome to contact me and train with me. One of my favourite things about my job is the variety and the people I get to meet.
-
They take place in my private studio on Upper Mount St, Dublin 2.
-
I do and all the information can be found on my Classes page where you can book in for a free trial.
